RECKONING 7 is something of an instrumental interlude between longer, denser episodes of the ongoing RECKONING series, which is now being made and released "out of order". Through an improvised electronic score and footage from the prison yard lobby of a popular battle royale game, it floats a modest proposal of multiplayer online game as altered space for collaborative performance, meditation, levitation, and indecision. RECKONING 7 considers the boredom of avatars and the futility of language.
RECKONING 7 è una sorta di intermezzo strumentale tra episodi più lunghi e densi della serie RECKONING, oggi prodotta e distribuita senza un ordine preciso. Attraverso una partitura elettronica improvvisata e un filmato nel cortile della prigione di un popolare gioco di combattimento online, RECKONING 7 presenta un gioco multiplayer online come spazio alterato per una performance collaborativa, la meditazione, la levitazione e l'indecisione. Il corto mette in scena la noia degli avatar e l'inutilità del linguaggio.

Kent Lambert (nato nel 1976 a Colorado Springs, Colorado) è un musicista e media artist di Chicago. Ha lavorato dal 2001 al 2004 come assistente alla distribuzione presso Video Data Bank ed è attualmente un addetto del reparto IT presso il Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts dell'Università di Chicago. La sua produzione creativa consiste principalmente in musica art-pop vocale e in videoarte ispirata al pop, realizzata con mezzi di comunicazione industriali e commerciali riadattati. La sua camaleontica band Roommate si esibisce negli Stati Uniti e all'estero da oltre un decennio.
Kent Lambert (b. 1976, Colorado Springs, Colorado) is a Chicago-based musician and media artist. He worked from 2001 to 2004 as the Video Data Bank’s Distribution Assistant and is currently a technological expert at the Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts at the University of Chicago. His creative output primarily consists of vocal driven art-pop music and pop-inflected video art made from repurposed industrial and commercial media. His ever-mutating art-pop band Roommate has been performing stateside and abroad for over a decade.
