HIDDEN CONFLICTS

Un cameraman si muove con la sua macchina da presa sul campo di battaglia cercando di catturare ciò che vede per mettere in luce ciò che che si nasconde sotto la superficie del visibile e la capacità di discernere tra giusto e sbagliato. Cosa attende il suo sguardo? Il confine tra fisico e digitale si fa via via sempre più confuso e la conflazione tra realtà e simulazione crea un cortocircuito cognitivo.
A cameraman strays with his camera on battlegrounds trying to capture what he sees to make visible both textures and moral compasses. What awaits his gaze? The documentary tries to blur the line between the reality of the physical and the reality of the digital as participants and their shared language begin to resemble those of real soldiers. The conflation of reality and simulation creates a cognitive short-circuit.

Jona Kleinlein è un artista multimediale che si cimenta con film, video e installazioni. Le sue opere richiamano i diversi livelli di cui si compone la realtà nelle immagini video. Crea visioni della realtà inusuali ma allo stesso tempo familiari per mostrare cosa si cela dietro all’apparente banalità del quotidiano. Vive e lavora in Norvegia.
Jona Kleinlein is a multimedia artist working with films, videos and installations. His practice recalls the different levels of reality in the video image. He creates unusual and yet somehow familiar visions of reality to show what lies behind the apparent banality of everyday life. He lives and works in Norway.
