Naataplawuqatsi is about life and civilization. It could be about real lives or about video game lives. Naataplawuqatsi uses in-game footage of the popular city building game Cities: Skylines and communicates with imagery and music reminiscent of Koyaanisqatsi and Baraka. Taking obvious inspiration from Godfrey Reggio’s Qatsi trilogy, Naataplawuqatsi is also a Hopi (Uto-Aztecan) word that probably means life as play or maybe life as simulation.
Naataplawuqatsi mette in scena la storia della civiltà. Potrebbe riferirsi a vite realmente vissute oppure a vite videoludiche. Naataplawuqatsi utilizza sequenze tratte dal videogioco Cities: Skyline, attraverso immagini e musica che ricordano Koyaanisqatsi e Baraka. Ispirandosi alla trilogia di Qatsi firmata da Godfrey Reggio, Naataplawuqatsi è anche una parola Hopi (Uto-Aztecan) che probabilmente significa vita in gioco oppure vita come simulazione.

Olivier Bonenfant è un regista indipendente, regista televisivo e artista di effetti speciali visivi per i videogiochi AAA di Ubisoft Montreal, nonché artista VFX per i lungometraggi dal 2004. Originario del Quebec, Olivier ha avuto la possibilità di girare cortometraggi in Canada, USA, Francia, Belgio, Russia, Svezia e Madagascar come parte del Kino Movement e ora vive in Australia da cinque anni, dove collabora con il gruppo Filmonik Melbourne e guadagnandosi da vivere come Senior Motion Graphics Artist nella pubblicità.
Olivier Bonenfant has been an Indie Filmmaker, TV Director and VFX artist for AAA video games at Ubisoft Montreal as well as VFX artist on feature films since 2004. Originally from Quebec, Olivier had the chance to shoot short films in Canada, the USA, France, Belgium, Russia, Sweden and Madagascar as part of the Kino Movement and has now been living in Australia for 5 years, growing with the open group Filmonik Melbourne and earning a living as a Senior Motion Graphics Artist in advertising.
